Project Description:

The task for the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall presented moving a large rug into The Westminster Room of the Grade II listed building. The 100 SQ MT / 1000SQ FT+ rug was designed with a linear striation texture, combining a cut and loop pile in its main area surrounded with a cut pile border. This large rug was made in one piece, cut into three units, then transported, carried and fitted on site. Often, asked “…what is the largest rug you can make?” My response: “…we can make any size but consideration has to be given to the logistics of moving the rug to its final destination”.

A further four rugs grace the floors within the Marylebone, Paddington, Pimlico and Soho rooms. These rugs work with a wool base and 100% silk line reflecting a subtly mirror and reflection of the serenity of these rooms with no distraction from the purpose of the Westminster Register Office.
